What is Home School Foundation (HSF)?
Home School Foundation’s mission is to bless homeschoolers and the cause of homeschooling. Their vision is to be a tool increasingly used by God both to address the financial hardships that hinder families from homeschooling and to bless the homeschool community.

FOUNDED BY HSLDA AS ITS CHARITABLE ARM — The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) founded the Home School Foundation in 1994 as a non-profit 501(c)(3), and the 2 organizations are closely tied in their mission to help and support the homeschool community. HSF is located at the HSLDA offices in Purcellville, Virginia. HSF originally focused on supporting homeschool groups. God has since expanded our vision, however, to include needy families within the homeschool community. – See more at: http://www.homeschoolfoundation.org/index.php?id=17#sthash.q8rrx2wX.dpuf
The HSF Ambassador Program was organized in 2008 to bridge the needs of homeschooling families in distress with the resources of HSF and the benevolent homeschool community. As the service arm of HSF, the Ambassador Program supports HSF’s mission: To preserve parental freedoms, promote homeschooling, provide assistance to homeschooling families in crisis, and support like-minded organizations. HSF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable foundation.
The mission of the Ambassador Program is to meet the needs of struggling homeschooling families through HSF gifts and the resources of the local community.
The Ambassador Program is a network of dedicated volunteers making a difference for homeschool families in need at the local level.
Ambassador volunteers represent HSF in their communities by providing information about HSF to needy homeschooling families, explaining HSF’s mission to potential donors, participating in fundraisers, and providing local homeschool families with opportunities to serve each other in tangible ways. If you are a family, widow, military family, or single parent struggling to homeschool in Alaska and would like assistance, please visit Home School Foundation and the HSF staff will help identify which grants and funds are available for you.
Currently, the Alaska Ambassador is conducting a used curriculum fundraiser to replenish the State Ambassador Fund which is used to provide Alaskan homeschool families with needed assistance. Generous donors have provided so much! After matching curriculum to families, the excess is sold to increase the available funds in the State Ambassador Fund. Naturally, the list of available curricula is continually changing. If you are interested in the current “For Sale” listings, please use the contact form.
